I went for a bicycle ride with the children and it turned out we had a wonderful illustration of the theory of constraints. The children had great fun in towing each other with a strap and when the youngest was towing the oldest, we avoided all the drama of being overtaken and left behind. The eldest felt responsible and tried hard to keep the line taught. If these children were two processes, we would have nicely paced production. As it turns out, we nicely paced our ride. Manufacturing and management principles don’t need to be hard and complicated to follow. Contact me for greater peace in your business.
